Playing Experience
Karen was named the New Mexico High School Most Valuable Player for volleyball in 1984 at the New Mexico State Championships. Karen went on to play Division I volleyball at the University of New Mexico where she was a three-year starter named University of New Mexico All-Conference (1st & 2nd teams) 3 years, University of New Mexico MVP 1987 and 2nd Team All-American during her senior season in 1987. She ranks sixth all-time in the Lobos’ record book for career assists with 2,845 assists. Karen also holds the UNM record for most assists in a season with 1,352 and most assists in a single game with 82.

Personal Background
Karen has lived in Colorado Springs since 1994 with her husband Vance and 2 kids, Kassidi & Gavin. She now enjoys being a grandma and works for Greenscapes Landscaping. Karen is still an active volleyball player.
